What have I named my dogs and why? Here is some insight for why I named my dogs certain names. These are definitely some unique dog names. You don’t hear them everyday.
Rufi- We got this name from the movie Hook. I am sure you remember the leader of the lost boys Rofio. Rufi was an Australian Sheppard. She was a great dog and I love the name Rufi.
Pokey- I have no idea why we named this dog Pokey. I remember we had him the same time we had Rufi. I think it might have been because he would always jump on us and poke us with his nails.
Minnie- She was a smaller dog. We named her Minnie probably because we had recently gone on a vacation to Disney Land and so Minnie was on our minds when we got this dog.
Mo- I named this dog after my Uncle, really for no other reason than I liked the name. Mo was super fluffy.
Roxy- She was one of my favorites. She was a Boxer and I named her Roxy because I really like the brand Quicksilver and Roxy is the girl version of that brand. I remember she got parvovirus and it was up to me to pay to save her when I was 12 years old. I took her to the vet and paid $300 to save her. Sadly a couple months later she got hit by a car so we had to put her down. I think that was the last time I ever cried.
Grizzly- I named this dog Grizzly because that is exactly what he looked like was a grizzly bear. He was a great dog but also got hit by a car.
Frodo- This was about when Lord of the Rings was coming out on video and I was obsessed with it. Frodo was actually not a dog. He was a mini goat. He was better than a dog in many ways. He would come when you called. He followed me everywhere. My favorite part was you could sick him on people and he would chase them. My neighbor goes running every morning so one morning my dad sicked Frodo on them for fun. An hour later, my neighbor brought Frodo back in his arms because after mile 2, Frodo was too tired to keep going. He also would act like he was driving our tractor. I loved this goat.
Rosy- This is the dog we currently have. She is a black lab, extremely loyal and a perfect dog. My little sister came up with the name Rosy and it fit her well because she is always happy to see me.
